Description
Located at the southernmost point of Alabama, Dauphin Island offers an authentic taste of the beautiful Gulf Coast. No glitz or glamor. Just a lot of quiet. Where eco-tourism drives the local economy. But after the BP Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded in 2010, more than 4-million gallons of oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico paralyzing the local economy. For years, loyal Island tourists migrated elsewhere. No new visitors crossed the three-mile bridge to vacation. The impact on the economy was devastating. After years of litigation, BP agreed to a settlement and awarded a payout to Dauphin Island to boost tourism marketing – and Stamp was hired to tackle the assignment. Not only did we need to convince our target market that Island tourism was alive and well, we also needed to take this opportunity to rebrand the Island with a more up-to-date and appropriate brand voice that set them apart from other nearby competition on Alabama, Florida and Mississippi beaches.
